What We Are Building (The Culture)

It is our mission, with the help of The Holy Spirit, to create an environment here at FCC that encourages healthy growth which can be duplicated in almost every other area of our life. The environment which is what we call “The Culture” of our local fellowship. That culture is built by following/practicing 5 simple things. We call it “The 5 P’s”.

  1. PASSION
  2. PREPARATION
  3. PUNCTUALITY
  4. POLITE
  5. PRESENT

PASSION

This is vital for anyone and everyone. Having a PASSION for what you do is paramount to being effective and successful. Without PASSION, one could find themselves reluctantly serving in a ministry they don’t have a desire to be in. If this is the case, then anything and everything will distract them and discourage them from putting their heart into what they are doing. Without a PASSION then number two on this will almost certainly be neglected.

PREPARATION

Anything we do will always be way more effective when as much behind the scenes work is done. Practice, practice, practice has always been the best form of PREPARATION. We do not encourage the “Fake it until you make it” model. We take our service towards God through the local church seriously. We believe that to be good stewards of what He entrusts to us, we must make every effort to constantly grow in every aspect. Show up PREPPED UP!

PUNCTUALITY

I wish we didn’t have to include what should be an elementary principle, but here we are. In order to respect the valuable time of all the team members, we encourage punctuality. If we say we will meet at a certain time, we make every effort to honor that.

POLITE

This may sound little bit silly, but the days we live in bring many hurdles and problems. We strive to not wear our feelings on our sleeves. We make great effort to treat everyone kindly and always practice being POLITE. You may never realize how much you can positively influence someone with a kind answer.

PRESENT

We added this in response to the very unhealthy practice we have all been groomed to follow. Due to all of the digital access we all enjoy, and love, we have allowed our attention to be manipulated in moments when we should engage face to face. Honestly, we have lost the art of conversation because our attention is divided. We encourage being PRESENT in the room you are in. Engage, converse and enjoy the company of the Body of Christ.

…Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord…
